Mental HEALTH ASYLUM EVALUATIONS

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer comprehensive psychological evaluations in support of asylum cases. These evaluations are conducted using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and ethically grounded approach. The purpose of an asylum evaluation is to assess the psychological impact of persecution, violence, or trauma and to document clinical findings that may support an individual’s asylum claim.

Evaluations include a thorough clinical interview, assessment of trauma-related symptoms, and review of relevant psychosocial history. When appropriate, standardized screening measures are utilized. Findings are summarized in a detailed written report that adheres to professional and legal standards, clearly outlining diagnostic impressions, consistency between reported experiences and psychological symptoms, and the potential mental health consequences of return to the country of origin.

My approach prioritizes client dignity, safety, and accuracy, recognizing the complexity and vulnerability inherent in the asylum process. These evaluations are completed with objectivity, compassion, and respect for the legal context in which they are used. I offer these services in English as well as in Spanish.
